Chery Arrizo 5 2022: Export Review for Overseas Dealers

This is the cheapest car in our stock, and the cheapest car in any list is a different kind of purchase from the rest. A 2022 Chery Arrizo 5 with a recorded mileage within 100,000 km, manual transmission and a published FOB range of $4,000–$5,000 is not a bad car. It is a car where the margin between a good buy and a bad one is smaller than anywhere else in this business.

So this review is written as a risk document rather than a brochure. If any of the three conditions below is not acceptable to you, this is not your unit.

You are buying a mileage bracket, not a number

The listing states the recorded mileage as within 100,000 km. That is roughly four times the bracket on most of our stock, and the difference between a car at the bottom of that range and a car at the top is the difference between two resale prices in your market, not one.

Ask for the odometer on camera with the VIN plate in the same continuous clip. Ask what service or usage records exist for this specific car. And accept that on a vehicle in this age and mileage band, records are frequently thin — what matters is that the thinness is disclosed before you buy, not after.

Local service and repair are the second condition

A manual-transmission economy sedan is the easiest category of car to maintain almost anywhere, and that is genuinely the strongest argument for this unit. There is no dual-clutch mechatronic unit, no high-voltage system and no proprietary diagnostic dependency standing between your customer and a working car. A competent independent workshop can look after it.

What that buys you is a shorter selling cycle and a lower after-sales cost per unit. What it does not buy you is a premium. Nobody pays extra for a car that is easy to fix. It is a volume product and should be priced like one.

Your buyer pool is price-first

The buyers for this car are first-time car owners, small businesses needing a runabout, and drivers replacing a car that has finally failed. They compare it with the cheapest alternative on the same forecourt, in cash terms, and a $200 difference decides the sale. If your market is one where such buyers exist in numbers, a car at this price has a clear home. If your market only buys on credit and appetite for used imports, it will sit.

The limits of a $4,000–$5,000 FOB car

Read the two published figures as a split. The vehicle is the FOB number, and $3,000 per unit on top of it is the movement to the destination port. Note what that means at this end of the market specifically. On a $4,000–$5,000 car, the freight and handling are a much larger share of the landed price than they are on a $20,000 vehicle, so a buyer comparing FOB numbers across suppliers is comparing the smaller half of the total. The CIF figure is the one that tells you the real cost of getting the car to your port.

The cheaper alternatives in our own stock

Chery Tiggo 72023-2025Gasoline$8,500–$9,500

Read that table carefully, because it contains the most important fact about this listing: for a few hundred dollars more per unit, our stock includes newer cars with a recorded mileage of within 30,000 km instead of within 100,000 km. The Arrizo 5 is only the right order if the price gap matters more to your buyers than three years of vehicle age and seventy thousand kilometres — and in most markets it does not.

That is not a reason to skip the car. It is a reason to order it in the right quantity and at the right price, rather than as a speculative batch.

Before you load a high-mileage unit

  • Compression and engine state. The single most expensive failure on a car at this mileage is an engine that was already tired when it left.
  • Clutch and gearbox behaviour on a manual car. Ask for it driven, with the shift points shown, rather than described.
  • Suspension and steering. Worn bushes and tired dampers are normal at this age and cheap to replace locally — but only if they are disclosed rather than discovered.
  • Corrosion and previous repair. Panel paint readings and a look at the structural areas, not just the visible panels.
  • Tyres. On a car this price, a set of tyres can be a meaningful percentage of what you paid for the vehicle.

Questions this mileage bracket raises

Is a 100,000 km car still worth exporting?

It depends entirely on your market's comfort with high-mileage vehicles and on the price you can sell it at. In strong price-first markets it works. Where buyers expect low mileage, a newer unit from our stock is the better order even at a higher price.

What condition evidence do you provide for a car at this mileage?

The same process as any other unit: VIN and odometer on camera together, panel paint readings, disclosed defects and the items the buyer asks for. For an older, higher-mileage vehicle the defect list is longer and disclosure matters more, not less.

Can I buy several of these as a batch?

Ask with the quantity. Availability at this price point changes quickly, and multi-unit orders are quoted per unit on the cars that actually exist.

What documents are issued?

The export-side document set for the order and the VIN, confirmed in writing. See the export documents page for what each document covers, and check destination import rules with your own authorities before payment; for Algeria the entry point is the Algerian Customs portal.

If you want a low-cost entry unit as a market test, tell us the quantity and the port and we will report what is available at this price point today. If you would rather order newer cars at a slightly higher unit price, that stock is on the same page.
